Licensed Engineers need the tools to tackle today’s technology issues

Man Woman Technology

Engineering technology has grown greatly over the years. What once started out as an idea on a piece of paper, brought to a drafting table, and calculated primarily with a pencil and drafting tools before being turned into some prototype made out of clay or wood, has evolved into a sleek and streamlined process thanks to the ever changing and improving innovations we now have available to us.

Licensed engineers today, whether they are a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or any of the other engineering disciplines, can choose a plethora of tools that they can utilize in the engineering process. Engineers will utilize software programs such as, Mathematica™ to work on algorithms and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs such as Autodesk Inventor™ and Solidworks™ to render graphics, as they bring their concept to reality.

FEA is used for solutions regarding IC Thermal Management

An engineering team must make use of such tools to handle all aspects of the engineering field. For example, when working on designs for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), there is the need for solutions related to IC thermal Management. They will use Finite Element Analysis24, or (FEA), which is a type of computer numerical modeling, when performing stress analysis or heat transfer analysis to gather the needed data for the design. CAD systems are used in this process to create and edit the drawings of the new design.

These are just a couple of the tools made available, and having a licensed mechanical engineer with the skills to utilize these tools can complete the engineering aspects of a project with more efficiency and better results which in turn can be a cost savings to the client.
